Ouch

Welcome to my blog, over the next month I plan to update this regularly with updates on how my training an preparation is going prior to my bout at the CRN Fight Night on 28th May.

Last year saw one of my colleagues Jamie "Gentleman Jim" Stewart take part in this event and raise a good chunk of cash for charity, as well as giving all at CAE Technology Service's a chance to see him progress through his training and then on to his fight at the black-tie event. Jamie seemed to love every minute of the whole experience, so when the 2009 event was announced and contenders sought I put my name forward.

I was invited to "The Ring" boxing club in Southwark for an assessment where we were put through a number of fitness tests, measured, and had a quick coaching session on the punch bag. about 90 people had put their name forward and with only nine fights on the night I wasn't to sure whether or not I would make the cut.

When the call came in to say I'd been selected, well mixed emotions - on the one hand I was pleased I'd been included in such a prestigious event, on the other; I'm going to get punched, LOTS!!
